The Journey
I See You is a children’s book created to gently support families navigating pregnancy and infant loss, offering reassurance that connection can continue beyond loss. Rooted in lived experience, the book provides a compassionate way for families to reflect, remember, and feel close to their child through shared moments of understanding.
The book was written by Amy following the loss of her son, Korbyn, in 2018. During a period of profound grief, Amy began documenting the small, meaningful signs and moments that helped her feel connected to him. These reflections became I See You — a softly illustrated story that acknowledges loss while offering comfort and reassurance to families walking a similar path.
I See You sits under Angel’s in Heaven, a purpose-led support brand created to extend the impact of the book beyond its pages. Angel’s in Heaven was established to support families through pregnancy and infant loss while also acting as a fundraising platform, with proceeds donated to selected charities.
This collaborative approach ensured the final outcome was not only visually cohesive, but deeply personal — a body of work shaped by trust, care, and a shared commitment to creating something meaningful for families navigating loss.
Illustrations
The illustrations in I See You were intentionally soft and emotionally considered, designed to feel comforting and approachable rather than overwhelming. Created using digital watercolour techniques, the artwork carries warmth and fluidity, allowing the visuals to gently support the words rather than compete with them.
We worked closely with Amy throughout the project, ensuring her lived experience and voice remained central to every creative decision. Her input guided the symbolism, tone, and pacing of each illustration, making collaboration and trust foundational to the process.
The artwork draws on everyday motifs, light, nature, and quiet moments, to reflect the lived experience of grief in a way that feels grounding and familiar. The result is a calm, emotive, memoir-style visual language that complements the words of support and allows families to engage with the story at their own pace.
“All I had was a story in my head, then I met this beautiful woman who after hearing my journey offered her assistance to create illustrations and help get my book published. I never dreamed I would write a book, then again I never dreamed my baby boy would die and lead me on a path to help others. My book has been a big part of my grief journey and now it’s helping others through theirs. Thank you Megs for all your help”

The Brand
“Grief is a life long journey and finding that unique way of expressing your grief will bring you comfort and support through the toughest of times.”
Angel’s in Heaven is a support service dedicated to helping families maintain a meaningful connection with their angels in heaven. We collaborated closely with Amy to create a brand that felt calm, authentic, and deeply aligned with the story’s narrative. The brand serves as a bridge for families to access the book, supported by an e‑commerce store integrated into the website.
Collateral Design
A range of supporting collateral was designed to extend the Angel’s In Heaven brand beyond the book. This included Connection Cards, framed artwork, business cards, and tote bags, each created to align with the established visual identity.
Every item was designed with intention, ensuring the illustrations and messaging translated thoughtfully across physical formats. The collateral provides families with tangible ways to connect, reflect, and carry the message of Angel’s In Heaven into everyday life.
Print & Publication
We provided guidance on the self-publishing process to bring I See You to life as a physical children’s book, offering advice on print formats, production considerations, and publication preparation. Working alongside local printers, WHO Printing, we ensured every step was clear and carefully managed so the final book matched the vision.
We also supported the ISBN registration process, making sure the book was correctly set up for distribution. This guidance allowed the project to move seamlessly from concept to a professionally produced publication, preserving both quality and the integrity of Amy’s story.
